Review Stephen King's It.
I thought the movie was good, but it serves more of a coming-of-age story comedy than a horror film. The film itself was not scary, but it was entertaining. I really loved the character development of the young children and how it builds on with a great chemistry between each character. The acting was just phenomenal with such emotional range. The film does suffer from a very slow pace and over-reliance on CGI effects. I like the film but its like another version of Stephen King's Stand By Me lacking the horror element. The film is unlikely to eclipse anyone’s memories of the 1990 Tim Curry-starring TV version. The film is a great coming-of-age story, but not successful on the horror element of the source material. I will give it a B. I hope It chapter two is way better.
