Watched Lincoln Starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field
and Tommy Lee Jones. The film was just
incredible and very rousingly wonderful. The film was a remarkable picture that
completely captures the battle that would define the legacy of Abraham Lincoln,
as he fought valiantly to amend the constitution to abolish slavery, months
before his death. Quite simply, this is the best film about American politics
dedicated to cinema of the year. Daniel Day-Lewis, who plays Abraham Lincoln,
delivered a exhilarating performance that is deserving to win at the Academy
Awards. His gestures, mannerisms, posture and physical acting lead you to
believe he really is Lincoln. The attention he put into the physical dimension
of the role really sets his performance apart. Sally Field was just amazing as Mary
Todd Lincoln. Her performance was so versatile and very emotionally convincing.
The really man whom was on top of his game was Tommy Lee Jones in a stand-out
performance as the Radical Republican congressman Thaddeus Stevens. Jones gave
such a fierce and motivated performance that he just steals every scene of the
film. Steven Spielberg did such an amazing job as director in the film, his
vision about the history of Lincoln with an excellent projection of the cameras
that transported back in time to 1864 America was extraordinary well done. Spielberg
not only created a movie; he crafted a universe. The sets, the costumes, the
props are all perfected to look like 1864 America. This film is simply another
triumph for Spielberg. The film almost
runs on no music for most of the time but the scenes demanding background score
were superbly orchestrated by John Williams. Cinematography by Janusz KamiÅski
and editing by Michael Kahn was crisp and top notch brilliantly well done. The
script and dialogue was just beautifully and excellently written by Tony Kushner. The script and dialogue develop great
character development for each character and created a visionary world come to
life. Although the film was a bit slow, it will entertain and keep you very
engaged in this film. The film was very gripping and inspirational that is historically
accurate. This movie is just a great
masterpiece and at times very funny to watch. I will give this film an A+++++. I recommend everyone to watch this awesome
movie.
