The Hunger Games Review
Watched The Hunger Games starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Woody Harrelson. I thought this film was very excellently well done film. Jennifer Lawrence was made to play the role of Katniss Everdeen. She played this role with such vulnerability and toughness for a character who is physically and morally strong. The film had excellent well define supporting players who carve out memorable characters. This film is way smarter and tougher than that crap of the Twilight Saga. There are some parts in the film that drags so much longer than the story requires. the film had an excellent well written script and dialogue with a great direction by Gary Ross. Costumes and makeup are the other strengths of the film because it makes it look very colorful and vibrant that makes the film come to live. The actual hunger games were fucking brutal and very violently bloodthirsty. The film was very entertaining with fun action sequences and crazy teens running around enjoying killing each other for survival. The film succeeds on the strength of its fresh, clearheaded narrative with an excellent music scored that makes the film flow every beautifully. I will give it an A+++.
Wrath of the Titans Review.
Watched Wrath of the Titans starring Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Danny Huston, and Ralph Fiennes. I thought the film was way better than Clash of the Titans remake, when it comes to the special effects, sound effects, and action sequences. But, the film suffers from a mediocre and wooden script and dialogue. The horrible acting of it's lead Sam Worthington, because the only one's that did an excellent powerful performances were the supporting cast that includes Liam Neeson, Danny Huston, and Ralph Fiennes. The special effects and visual effects were very amazing and brilliant like the fire and ash monster that is Kronus. I though the film was much more fun and thrilling than its predecessor. The film itself was lacking plot and character development. The only reason to watch this film is for it's special effects, visual effects, action sequences and an awesome conversion of 3D. I will give it a C+.
Casa De Mi Padre Review
Watched Casa De Mi Padres starring Will Ferrell, Diego Luna and Pedro Armendariz Jr. I though the film was very funny from parodying the notorious conventions of the telenovela and has a different, yet still great performance by Will Ferrell in his first Spanish speaking role. I still have a big problem that it was very exaggerated and trying to hard to make the film fun. I really enjoy the ton of the film and you can tell the film very cheap. The film did suffer from a very lazy and horrible script and dialogue, and the directing was decent , but not great. I did get the feeling that the movie was trying to justify its massive plot holes to its telenovela roots, but that doesn't always translate to a full length movie. .I did enjoyed great acting from all the actor, even thought the performance was very exaggerated and very loco. The film itself was very funny, very bold, and If you can take it in for its absurdly cheap and ridiculous tone, you'll have a lot of fun. I will give it a C+.
The Vow Review
Watched The Vow starring Rachel McAdams, Channing Tatum and Sam Neil. The film was Ok, The script and dialogue was full of plot holes and very lazy written. The script was also filled with romantic cliches, predictability and the movie drags at times. Rachel McAdams was very good in the movie, she in bodies innocence and vulnerability about her that made her tragedy much more able to understand and pity her more. Channing Tatum was just plain horrible, he is one of Hollywood's horrible actors. He didn't seem to have a good on screen chemistry with McAdams. Even though it's based on a true story, the film is like another imitation of a Nicholas Sparks novel without the excellent character development and romance. I thought it was sweet and nice , but I have seen better romantic dramas with a excellent story, well written script and powerful performances. This film just lack depth, character development and a well written script. I will give it a D.
